Make Over Minute February

The goal of this project involved remodeling the kitchen to add a powder bath and washer/dryer but saving the existing cabinets and wood flooring.

This was accomplished by removing the cabinets left of the refrigerator and adding the walls shown for the bathroom. Cabinets were removed beside the closet to make space for a stacking washer-dryer.

To make up for some of the storage lost a custom pantry was inset under the upper staircase and a shallow can pantry was built into the new bathroom wall. The new cabinets were built and stained to match the existing.

The wood flooring was toothed in where the kitchen cabinets were remodeled and then the entire floor was sanded and finished looking as good as new
